Last month while we were in Lockdown 2, I decided to learn a couple of new IT skills ...... firstly how to set up an email marketing platform and secondly how to make an on-line flip book in which to display some paintings. As it was nearing Christmas and there were no Christmas sales this year, I filled the flip book with small affordable paintings for sale, the proceeds of which would be donated to a local charity. The flip book was really eye catching and attracted a lot of positive feedback. The small paintings made perfect Christmas presents and sold like hotcakes, 75% had sold within a couple of weeks. I was pleased to have increased my IT skillset but the jury is still out as to whether this will have encouraged more people to visit my website and as to whether the "lost leader" approach to pricing artwork will backfire!!
